Create a System For Managing Your New Contacts

Below are  7 Tips for Organizing Your Business Cards from Andrea Brundage who is a Professional Organizer in Mesa, Arizona.  Learn more about getting your home and business organized so that you can move forward with more important things. Visit her website at www.professionalorganizeraz.com

Here are my 7-Tips for Organizing Business Cards:

  • Do not take cards from people that you are not going to follow-up with
  • Do not take cards from people that you already have in your contacts database
  • Make a note on each card that includes the date, the event, and something memorable (i.e., wears a clown nose)
  • Use an electronic system that syncs with your phone so you have access to your contacts database at all times
  • Assign a group name to the new contact that is logical (for example, the name of a networking group), enter items noted in #3 in the description
  • Make an entry on your calendar to follow-up with them via email or phone call
  • Toss or recycle the card
